Hypnotherapy uses hypnosis to access the subconscious mind to find solutions to problems that the conscious mind is having trouble dealing with. If you have trouble with unhealthy habits like smoking or overeating, or if you want to cure any phobias you have, or if you just want to feel more relaxed and confident, hypnotherapy can help you achieve those goals.

Contrary to popular belief, hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep or someone swinging a watch in front of you. It does involve deep relaxation, but when hypnotised the client is actually in an enhanced state of awareness, concentrating entirely on the hypnotists’ voice. In this state, the conscious mind is suppressed and the subconscious mind is revealed.

The therapist is able to offer positive suggestions, ideas, concepts and lifestyle changes to the client, the seeds of which become firmly planted and aims to re-program patterns of behaviour within the mind, enabling irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions to be overcome. There are no mysterious feelings or loss of control – at all times you are aware of what is being said and what is going on around you.

The only special feeling of being hypnotised is the feeling of complete and total relaxation….something to look forward to.
